Members elect Curl, return Conover to board

October 3, 2015

Members of the Educational Theatre Association elected one new board member, awarded a veteran appointed board member an elected seat, and approved a housekeeping revision of the EdTA Code of Regulations that resolves inconsistencies in existing policies on the selection of EdTA chapter directors.

Winning candidates in the board election are Matt Conover and Brian Curl.

Conover is from Ladera Ranch, California. He is vice president for creative entertainment at Walt Disney Parks & Resorts. He has served as an appointed member of the EdTA board since 2008 and as board treasurer for the past five years. He is a member of the foundation board for the Orange County (California) School of the Arts.

Brian Curl is from New York City. He is an actor, singer, and dancer. He has served as director and choreographer for the Thespian Musicalworks program, presented workshops at the Thespian Festival, and served as EdTA national office representative for state festivals. He has worked as an artist in residence at high schools in Arkansas and Mississippi.

The three year terms for these new board members begin August 1, 2016.
