Educational Theatre Association Community Manager Ginny Butsch has received the Higher Logic Users Group (HUG) MVP award at the platform provider's Super Forum 2016 Community Awards. The awards recognize individuals who share their time and experience with other community users by answering questions and providing valuable information and insight into the use of Higher Logic's community functionality. Higher Logic provides the platform for EdTA's Theatre Education Community, which Butsch manages.
Butsch has been with EdTA for over ten years and her dedication is frequently recognized by her colleagues, but this award signals recognition of her efforts by others in her field. Initially using HUG mainly as a space to ask questions, Butsch quickly developed expertise in the community platform. From there she made an easy transition to answering questions from other users and providing her experience to those just starting out.
“I didn’t start participating in online communities to earn an award, but it is flattering to be recognized for my contributions," Butsch said. "I spend a great deal of time making sure those who participate in our Theatre Education Community feel the same way, either through personal notes or recognition in our biweekly Community Spotlight. This reenergizes me to keep expanding my efforts, acknowledging and validating those who are continuously improving our field with their questions and advice.”
