My love of theatre began in 8th grade, when I saw my first play at the local high school (Thespian Troupe 6043!). As soon as I entered high school, I started auditioning. If I wasn't cast, I volunteered to run props or help with costumes. I entered college with the intention of pursuing acting as a career, but fell into the theatre education field by chance. My mother's elementary school needed someone to help with their test scores in the arts. I volunteered to come in and teach a few classes and found my direction. My senior project went from a performance study to an in-depth research paper about the impact of theatre on child development. After graduation, I started teaching classes and developing education programs at local theatres. I found a job opening at EdTA in the paper and the rest is history!
