Sustaining Your Thespian Troupe

Sustaining Your Thespian Troupe

The Educational Theatre Association offers resources to help struggling theatre programs. Here are some of the ways we can assist you and your troupe in these difficult times.

Flexible Timelines

If remote instruction makes it difficult to secure your renewal payment by the October 15 deadline, our membership team can accept an email from the school account of your principal or bookkeeper authorizing the troupe’s renewal. The email serves as a placeholder until your check or purchase order arrives.

Funding Alternatives

If extracurricular budgets have been cut, will your school fund professional development for teachers? Ask your district to pay the $129 membership to EdTA and accompanying subscription to Theatre Educator Pro as a professional development expense — then your annual troupe dues are covered.

Thespian Relief Fund Grants

A limited number of $500 grants are awarded to schools in need to cover expenses related to troupe dues. The grant covers troupe charter or renewal costs and lifetime fees for 10 students.
