Submissions for all Next Generation Works programs open October 1.

Thespian Playworks nurtures original student-written plays from the page to the stage. The program staff will choose up to four plays to be developed at the International Thespian Festival. Professional directors and dramaturgs will help the chosen finalists to workshop and present their plays with student actors. Thespian Musicalworks nurtures original student-written musicals from the page to the stage. The program staff will choose up to two works to be developed at the International Thespian Festival. Professional stage and music directors will help the chosen finalists to workshop and present their musicals with student actors. Thespian Criticworks nurtures original student-written arts journalism. The program staff will choose up to six writers to attend the International Thespian Festival. Professional critics will help the chosen finalists to develop their critical writing. Please carefully read all the guidelines below before submitting your work.

Thespian Filmworks nurtures original student-created films from the page to the screen in a hands-on, collaborative process that allows young filmmakers to experience the environment of working on and off a set through “run and gun” filmmaking. The program staff will choose up to 20 students who will be put into no more than five teams at the International Thespian Festival to develop original films. Professional filmmakers will help the chosen finalists to create and present their films with student actors. Please carefully read all the guidelines below before submitting your work.
