Does anyone have a list of Mexican American plays or authors that they can share?

There is a great collection of Latina/o Theatre for Young Audiences plays called Palabras Del Cielo. In it there are great scholarly articles as well as some excellent contributions from Latina/o playwrights.

Here is the link to dramatics: https://www.dramaticpublishing.com/palabras-del-cielo.

    Hi, Joseph,

You can start with Octavio Solis' plays. (Playscripts.com)

His play, Dreamlandia, takes place on both sides of the  Rio Grande border.

    Best,

    Joe Norton

    Hi Joseph,

There are a series of plays by the Spanish poet/playwright Federico Garcia Lorca that may fit the bill. Several years ago my advance drama students and the advanced Spanish Language students combined their talents to perform several of his plays in our Little Theatre.  We did  "Blood Wedding,"  "The House of Bernarda Alba' and some excerpts from several other of his plays and poems.  These are powerful pieces of literature and well worth the time.  We performed them in Spanish and English.  It was quite an experience.

    I hope this helps.
