Has anyone seen or produced this musical? Do you have any suggestions or insights?

    Yes!

I saw it in the basement of a library when it was still in development, and later bought the cast recording when it was playing in NYC. I've been keeping an eye on the work Tysen and Miller ever since. I liked the original more than their eventual draft, but I still think it's a terrific show. It's male-heavy, and a very small cast, otherwise I would've produced it by now. (it's always in my back pocket as a "someday...") Still, the production can cast a spell, and the story's coming of-age story and emotional resonance is undeniable. Since I saw it in development, the production values were very simple--wooden ladders, chairs, barrels and some planks--but thematic and characters were front and center, and it didn't need giant spectacle. It was a magical evening in the theater that I still think about sometimes.

    Go for it!

Meg, thanks! Have you (or anyone reading) worked on an MTI show recently? What was your experience like?

I saw this show off-Broadway and listen to the music frequently. The writers are wonderful and often able to skype, zoom, or face-time with those doing their works - they're willing to help out any way they can. They are fantastic people! Love Miller & Tysen shows! This show, Fugitive Songs, Tuck Everlasting, and the new Dreamland are all terrific.
