Have you ever wanted to learn how to run a theatre company? At A.L.T. we believe in diversity of thought and giving voice to the voiceless around the country. That is why A.L.T. offers this unparalleled experience for 6-10 college, graduate, or highly dedicated high school students. This is not your regular theatre internship or leadership program offering only one scope of training. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity that brings accepted students in contact with our producing artistic director, and board of trustees for a year of leadership, fun, and learning from #YourNationalTheatre! Guided by the A.L.T. Producing Artistic Director and Board of Directors the Junior Board builds marketing strategy, financial budgets, and other components needed to ensure a successful production and to further the mission of A.L.T. In the community, the Junior Board leads the way for discussion on social change and gains valuable non-profit board experience. This one-year tenure will prepare students to be leaders as arts industry professionals and members of society. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis.
Students Create Change Acting/Directing Internship: STUDENTS CREATE CHANGE SC2 | American Legacy Theatre
Have you ever wanted to learn how theatre can create change? At A.L.T. we believe in diversity of thought and giving voice to the voiceless around the country. That is why A.L.T. offers this unparalleled experience for ONLY 16 high school and 4 college students. This is not your regular high school summer theatre program offering acting classes at a theatre camp. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity that brings accepted students in contact with our professional teaching artist, producing artistic director, and an ensemble of peers for a summer of creativity, fun, and learning from #YourNationalTheatre! Born out of our original Junior Board program Students Create Change (SC2) is an 8-week program where students will join together to create a NEW world premiere production. In the community, SC2 leads the way for discussion on social change and gains valuable experience in creating collaboratively. This summer intensive will prepare students to be leaders as directors, collaborative creative artists, coaches, prospective theatre professionals, and members of society. Who should apply? Students interested in working hard to use art as a tool to spark social change and discussion on civic issues are strongly encouraged to apply. This may be a technology guru, stage manager, director, actor, designer, dramaturg, prospective teacher, or someone else!
