    Hi everyone -

I'm the co-chair of the Education Committee for the Dramatists Guild and next week we're hosting a weeklong Educator Appreciation Week with different events each day that I hope you'll be able to attend.  A flyer is attached here and I've also put in a blurb about each event. They're all free and DG members and non-members are welcome to attend any and all.   You can register here for them.

WHEN AND HOW TO ENTER THE HIGHER EDUCATION SECTOR
Carlos Murillo of DePaul University and Kate Snodgrass of Boston University host a practical session on creating teaching
statements, crafting a resume and the best way to do a job search in higher education.

    Tuesday, October 5th-7PM
NON-TRADITIONAL EDUCATIONAL SPACES, STUDENTS & STRUCTURES
Working playwrights teach theatre in a variety of spaces, including non-traditional spaces such as detention centers, prisons, senior
centers, and community outreach programs as well as teaching artists for theatre companies. Join us for a conversation with innovative
theatre practitioners about their work and take away practical ideas to utilize in any classroom space.

    DRAMATISTS GUILD INSTITUTE OPEN HOUSE
In this two-hour event, highlighting four of the Institute's most popular classes, participants will get to experience a taste of what it's
like to take a DGI class. They'll also hear from current DGI instructors, who will share teaching insights and methodology.

    WHAT I'M TEACHING NOW
Are you a teacher looking for ways to invigorate your curriculum and lesson plans? Join us for a discussion that will introduce you to
tools, resources, and lesson ideas that will help you introduce your students to a broader array of playwrights and plays that may not
be on your radar. Join breakout rooms of educational professionals for conversations on what they are currently teaching in the
    classroom.

    Friday October 8th -7PM EDT
    CREATING EQUITABLE SPACES FOR STUDENTS
The Dramatists Legal Defense Fund will present their toolkit: DRAMATIC CHANGES: A Guide to Producing Stage Works on
College Campuses in Turbulent Times. How do stakeholders on college campuses resolve the tensions which have arisen between the
value of free expression on the one hand, and the intense and overdue imperative to advance values of diversity, equity, and inclusion
on the other? These are the questions that this document attempts to explore, while providing practical guidance and observations
about the challenging process of presenting theatrical productions on college campuses today.
