Executive Search Firm Begins Discovery Process

Following last month’s announcement that Washington, DC-based Good Insight will lead the hiring of EdTA’s next executive director, the firm has begun the first phase of its recruiting process. In this “discovery” phase, the Good Insight team is gathering input from stakeholders to clarify the executive director’s key job responsibilities.

“Discovery is a critical step in our recruiting process,” said Good Insight CEO Carlyn Madden. “Engaging with stakeholders allows us to identify the true needs and wants for this role and develop a candidate profile.”

Earlier this month, the firm met with EdTA’s full board of directors, staff, the full search committee, and members who attended a listening session. During those sessions, Good Insight shared an overview of the recruiting process for EdTA, described its inclusive hiring practices as part of its commitment to anti-racism, and led conversations about priorities for the next executive director.

“The meetings between Good Insight and EdTA stakeholders have been energizing,” said EdTA vice president Krista Carson Elhai, who’s leading the search committee with ETF board chair Matt Conover. “Good Insight’s discovery process meshes perfectly with our goal to ensure that all constituents have a voice in this process.”

All members and stakeholders are invited to view this overview of Good Insight’s processes and practices, which were shared during the feedback sessions with stakeholders.

The discovery phase will result in the creation of a job announcement by the end of December. Good Insight will then begin to source and screen candidates. The job will be posted on the EdTA website and advertised through job boards, including industry-specific websites and LinkedIn.
