Every advocacy presentation before a public body should follow three simple rules:
- Thank your audience for the opportunity to make your presentation.
- Explain your point of view using facts and personal experience to back up your case.
- And finally, ask your audience to support your request.
Included are the Powerpoint itself in an editable format and a user’s guide.
The Powerpoint and companion narrative can be adapted for either adult
or student use. The script, as written, works in tandem with the
Powerpoint and can be presented in around six minutes. The user’s guide contains seven slides that outline how to use and customize the presentation for your own needs.
The Thank, Ask, Explain presentation and user's guide are located in the Local resources entry of the Advocacy library.
