Make a dramatic impact!
When you give to the Educational Theatre Association, you support:
- Providing access to theatre education for all students.
- Improving the educational experiences of all students.
- Enriching the adult lives and careers of today's children.
Research shows that theatre education:
- Improves teamwork, creativity, memory, and language skills.
- Lowers dropout rates among at-risk youth.
- Correlates to greater success in math and reading for many students.
The Educational Theatre Association is the premier international voice in theatre education, with dramatic reach and influence.By partnering with EdTA, you share the vision to make theatre education available to all students at all levels of learning.
Your tax deductible gift will provide a valuable theatre experience to our students and educators.
You can also support EdTA through the following campaigns:
Send a troupe to Festival
The annual Thespian Festival, held every June at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, is the premier high school theatre experience. This weeklong event hosts almost 4,000 students and teachers. Many Thespian troupes that would benefit greatly from Festival are not financially able to attend. Your donation will go directly to sending a deserving troupe to Festival.
Each year EdTA and its chapters award more than $200,000 in merit scholarship funds to college-bound theatre students intending to major in communication or the performing arts. These fields include theatre, film, speech, radio and television, broadcasting, music, or dance. We’d like to do more for theatre educators and Thespians everywhere. You can help!
Many underserved middle schools struggle to provide sustainable theatre arts education. JumpStart Theatre is a pilot program that provides theatre education to underserved middle schools without a theatre teacher, and ensures that students have access to the twenty-first century skills that theatre provides. JumpStart will launch in 2015 with three Cincinnati-area middle schools, with plans to grow annually to a national level. A donor may underwrite a JumpStart school for a year with an investment of $10,000. Gifts of any amount are welcome!
