Dramatics magazine’s College Theatre Directory is now available as a searchable online database that’s designed to help prospective undergraduates find schools that match their educational goals and budgets.
Published in print since 1987, the College Theatre Directory is always the magazine’s largest and most popular issue of the year. The online form of the directory employs search options that students can use to find schools that match their criteria, including annual cost, type of degree and major, geographic location, campus setting, and availability of merit-based scholarships.
The searchable online College Theatre Directory is available to the public at http://collegedirectory.schooltheatre.org.
At launch today, the directory contained profiles of 162 undergraduate theatre programs, and the magazine staff is continuing to add new ones. (College and university representatives: send a note from your campus e-mail account to firstname.lastname@example.org to receive an invitation to submit your school’s profile to the directory. There is no charge.)
The online directory was developed in collaboration with the Acceptd college application network, a startup that facilitates online submission of college applications and audition materials.
EdTA Executive Director Julie Woffington said the searchable online directory is just one of a broad range of technology initiatives planned by the organization. “One of the important things we’re focused on right now is finding ways to leverage technology to serve our members more effectively,” Woffington said. “And this is just one example of that.”
