Education

At the Junior Thespian Festival, young artists have many opportunities to embrace their creativity and sharpen their theatre skills, from the multitude of theatrical workshops for both students and teachers to the Junior Tech Challenge, there will be something for everyone!

Workshops are hour-long classes that focus on theatre topics from acting to dancing and movement, singing to stage combat, technical theatre, improv and more! There will also be workshops for adults to gain new ideas and resources for their classrooms and theatre spaces, so make plans to attend!

The workshop proposal form is available for Junior Thespian Festival 2015.

The Junior National Individual Events (JNIE) program provides students with the opportunity to develop their audition skills while receiving instructional feedback on prepared theatrical material. Whether their focus is acting, musical theatre, or technical theatre, the Individual Events program is designed to acknowledge the students’ strengths and provide suggestions for further artistic growth.

All documents relating to the JNIE program can be found in the NIE library.

The Junior Tech Challenge is a hands-on event that teaches many fundamental technical theatre skills including knot-tying, prop shift and running crew, and costume quick change, and more!
